Warrant task force arrests suspect in Southern District murder months after fatal shooting

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 23-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday morning in connection with an October homicide in the city’s Southern District, police said.

Members of the Warrant Task Force arrested Darrien Robinson Jr. at approximately 6:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of Greenmount Avenue.

Robinson is charged in the October 15, 2025 killing of Darrius Hines, which occurred in the 500 block of Callender Street.

According to investigators, officers responded that afternoon at approximately 4:15 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was later identified as Darrius Hines.

Following his arrest, Robinson was transported to the Homicide Section for questioning and later to Central Booking, where he was charged with first- and second-degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing. The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
