Boynton Beach woman hits $1 million jackpot on holiday scratch-off ticket

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A Boynton Beach woman is starting the new year with a million-dollar reason to celebrate after winning big on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery announced that Yvonne Hill-Mckinnie, 59, of Boynton Beach, claimed a $1 million top prize from the $1,000,000 Holiday Ca$h Scratch-Off game. Hill-Mckinnie chose to take home her winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $606,700 after taxes.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at the Publix supermarket located at 6627 Boynton Beach Boulevard. The popular grocery chain will also receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

Introduced as part of the Lottery’s seasonal lineup, the $20 Holiday Ca$h game features top prizes of $1 million and offers players the chance to win up to 21 times on a single ticket. With more than 3 million winning tickets statewide and over $125 million in total cash prizes, the game remains a favorite among Floridians.

Scratch-offs continue to boost Florida education funding

According to the Florida Lottery, scratch-off tickets account for roughly 74 percent of all ticket sales. Since the program’s inception, these games have generated more than $20 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, which supports Florida’s public schools and scholarships.
