Bronx Girl, 4, Dies After Found Unresponsive Friday morning

Bronx, NY – A 4-year-old girl died Friday morning after being found unconscious at a home near Barnes Avenue and Adee Avenue, authorities said.

Police were called to the scene around 9:17 a.m. following a 911 report of an aided female within the 49th Precinct. When officers arrived, they found the child unresponsive and without signs of life. Emergency medical services rushed her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.

Detectives from the New York City Police Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

No arrests have been made, and officials said the investigation remains active. The girl’s identity is being withheld until family members have been properly notified.
