Buffalo man sentenced to 8 years in prison for cocaine trafficking — Court, Judge Gavel, Big Stock Photos

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Augustin Ramos, a 42-year-old Buffalo resident, was sentenced to 96 months in prison for charges related to cocaine distribution. U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. handed down the sentence following Ramos’s conviction in two separate cases.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch reported that in June 2018, law enforcement intercepted a package from Puerto Rico containing approximately 2,986 grams of cocaine. The cocaine was replaced with a sham substance and a transmitter for tracking. On June 18, 2018, a controlled delivery was made to a co-conspirator’s residence. Ramos, who had made arrangements to retrieve the package, pleaded guilty in May 2021 to attempt to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.

On April 18, 2022, while awaiting sentencing for the previous charge, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Ramos’s residence in Buffalo. They seized approximately two kilograms of cocaine.
