Charlestown undercover sting lands two in trafficking bust

Undercover sting in Charlestown nets two men in sex trafficking probe

BOSTON, MA — An undercover operation targeting commercial sexual exploitation in Charlestown led to the arrests of two North Shore men Wednesday, according to the Boston Police Department.

Detectives from the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit, working alongside the Massachusetts State Police Special Services Section High Risk Victims Squad, conducted the operation in the Chelsea Street area. With assistance from officers assigned to District 15, investigators made an onsite arrest following the operation.

Alexander Eugenio Villar, 33, of Danvers, and Randy Rosa, 37, of Lynn, were taken into custody and charged with Trafficking a Person for Sexual Servitude and Deriving Support from Prostitution.

Both men are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, Charlestown Division.

The Human Trafficking Unit said the investigation remains active as detectives continue to examine the facts and circumstances surrounding the case.

The department said the identities of individuals who assist in investigations anonymously are protected.
