Cumberland men busted returning to banned property

Two men arrested after returning to Paca Street property they were barred from

Cumberland, MD – A call about unwanted occupants inside a city residence led to the arrest of two Cumberland men who police say had already been warned to stay away from the property.

The incident occurred Monday evening at approximately 6:40 p.m. when officers responded to a residence on Paca Street for a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, officers located Sherman Edward Denmark, 44, and William Allen McKnew, 70, inside the home. Police said both men had previously been notified they were not permitted on the premises.

Denmark and McKnew were taken into custody, transported to police headquarters, issued citations for trespassing on private property, and released pending trial in District Court.
