CUMBERLAND, Md. — Officers with the Cumberland Police Department made several arrests Friday, December 20, following separate incidents involving trespassing, controlled substances, and assault across the city.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., police responded to a trespassing complaint at a residence in the 1600 block of E. Oldtown Road. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old David Richard McMillan, who was confirmed to be unlawfully on the property. A search revealed McMillan was in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, issued two criminal citations for trespassing and possession of paraphernalia, and released pending trial.
Later that day, police served a criminal summons to 27-year-old Darryl Lemar Powell Jr. in connection with an assault incident on December 15 at a business in the 200 block of Green Street. Powell allegedly assaulted a victim and engaged in disorderly conduct during the altercation. After being issued the summons for second-degree assault, affray, and disorderly conduct, Powell was released pending trial.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., officers conducting a foot patrol on Queen City Drive observed 37-year-old Gary Randall Trenter II holding suspected drug paraphernalia. A search revealed he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Trenter was arrested, issued criminal citations for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia, and released pending trial.
