Cumberland woman slapped with assault charges after private complaint

Cumberland woman charged with assault after private citizen files complaint

CUMBERLAND, MD – A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sunday on multiple assault charges after a private citizen filed a complaint in Allegany County District Court, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Kylie Brooke Doll of Cumberland was taken into custody on January 18 after a warrant was issued in connection to the allegations. She faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

After her arrest, Doll was brought before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing and was released on her own recognizance. Details about the incident leading to the charges have not been made public, and it remains unclear what prompted the private filing.

First-degree assault in Maryland is a felony and typically involves serious physical harm or the use of a weapon. Second-degree assault and reckless endangerment are also serious offenses, and the case will proceed through the district court system.
