DC Double Homicide Probe Snares Another Alleged Killer

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A second suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting last month that left two victims dead and a third critically injured in Southeast, police announced Thursday.

On May 23 around 10:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 4200 block of 4th Street SE, where they found three males with gunshot wounds lying in the roadway. Authorities said a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were pronounced dead at the scene, while a 14-year-old male was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victims were identified as Royell Walker, 16, and Jamar Jackson, 19, both of Southeast D.C.

Police on Wednesday arrested 23-year-old Sean McFadden of Southeast on a DC Superior Court warrant, charging him with first-degree murder while armed.

New arrest by fugitive task force

On Thursday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 19-year-old Royale McGlenn Jr. of Hyattsville, Md., also on a DC Superior Court warrant charging him with first-degree murder while armed.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Case Squad is continuing the investigation. Police advise anyone who has knowledge of this incident to take no action but to call (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for each homicide, bringing the total available reward in this case to $50,000.
