New York, NY – A routine bus ride through East Harlem turned into a crime scene after a woman fell inside a city bus and had her cellphone snatched as she lay on the floor, police said.

The incident occurred Saturday morning at approximately 10:20 a.m. while a 64-year-old woman was riding an M102 bus. According to investigators, the victim fell to the ground while onboard. As she was down, an unidentified man approached her and forcibly took her cellphone from her hand.

Police said the suspect then exited the bus when it stopped near East 109th Street and Third Avenue. He fled westbound on East 109th Street and has not been located.

The victim’s condition was not disclosed, and no arrests have been announced. Detectives released the information as part of an effort to identify the suspect and determine whether similar incidents may be connected.
