TRENTON, N.J. – Francis A. Garzon, a 35-year-old Brooklyn resident, was sentenced to 121 months in prison for his involvement in a strongarm extortion scheme.
The sentencing occurred in Trenton federal court, with U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi overseeing the case.
Garzon, along with Endrit Kllogjeri, was accused of conspiring and attempting to extort a Monmouth County, New Jersey resident and their son in Brooklyn, New York.
The scheme took place from December 1 to 9, 2019, involving threats of physical harm and demands for money.
Garzon admitted to brandishing a revolver to intimidate the victim. He and Kllogjeri were arrested on December 9, 2019. In addition to the prison term, Garzon faces three years of supervised release after his prison term. Kllogjeri’s sentencing is scheduled for March 21.
