Utica, NY — Police are investigating after multiple gunshots rang out early Saturday on Howard Avenue, where officers recovered 5.56 caliber shell casings near a residential property but found no victims or damage. The incident was reported around 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block, according to the Utica Police Department.

Responding officers secured the scene and located several spent rounds, indicating rifle fire in the area. Despite the gunfire, authorities said no property damage has been identified and no individuals have come forward reporting injuries.

The case has been assigned to the Utica Police Department’s GIVE (Gun Involved Violence Elimination) Unit, which focuses on firearm-related incidents and violence prevention.
