Jersey Shore Weather Rebound: National Weather Service Says Sunshine and Warmer Temperatures Are Returning

After a rainy Memorial Day weekend, forecasters say classic beach weather is finally on the way

After a soggy Memorial Day weekend kept many visitors off the sand and boardwalk, the Jersey Shore is finally set to see a stretch of warmer temperatures and improving beach weather.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring “partly sunny” conditions with temperatures climbing to around 80 degrees along the Shore before a brief midweek disturbance moves through the region.

Forecasters say showers are possible late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with the National Weather Service predicting “showers likely before 11 a.m.” Wednesday along with patchy morning fog. Despite the rain chances, temperatures are still expected to reach the low 80s.

The bigger turnaround arrives heading into Thursday and Friday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting “mostly sunny” skies Thursday with a high near 80 degrees before sunny weather continues Friday with temperatures in the upper 70s.

By the weekend, conditions are expected to become even more favorable for beachgoers, boardwalk crowds, and outdoor dining across the Shore.

Saturday’s forecast currently calls for sunny skies and a high near 73, while Sunday is expected to remain “mostly sunny” with temperatures again reaching the low 70s.

After days of chilly rain, gray skies, and damp holiday conditions, the improving forecast is welcome news for both tourists and Shore businesses hoping for a stronger start to the summer season.

The upcoming stretch of sunshine is also expected to bring larger crowds back to popular Jersey Shore destinations including Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant Beach, Long Beach Island, Belmar, and Wildwood.

Ocean temperatures will still remain cool this early in the season, but the return of sun and seasonable temperatures should create far more comfortable conditions for beach walks, rides, outdoor events, and boardwalk activity.

The National Weather Service forecast also shows mostly sunny skies continuing into early next week with highs remaining in the mid-70s across much of coastal New Jersey.
