Man killed and two others wounded in triple shooting in Northwest DC

A burst of gunfire left one man dead and two others injured after an overnight shooting in Northwest DC.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A triple shooting in Northwest DC has left one man dead and two others injured, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:24 a.m. on July 8 in the 800 block of 6th Street, Northwest.

Officers responding to reports of gunfire found two adult men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the second was listed in critical condition.

DC Fire and EMS transported both men to a local hospital.

A short time later, a third adult male arrived at an area hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound that investigators determined was connected to the same shooting.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the critically injured victim died at the hospital.

Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Marquis Turner, of District Heights, Maryland.

No arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing.
