New York Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder

NEW YORK, NY – A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a fatal incident in Manhattan’s 33rd Precinct.

Miguel Duval, of 651 West 168 Street, was apprehended by police on Sunday night around 10:45 p.m. This arrest followed a response by the NYPD to a 911 call about an assault at approximately 4:13 p.m. on the same day, near West 165 Street and Riverside Drive.

According to witness accounts, Duval allegedly pushed 44-year-old Vianel Garcia down a grass embankment within a park, causing severe injuries. Garcia, who resided at 63 East 115 Street, was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she was later pronounced dead.

The NYPD is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
