Pittsfield hit and run suspect nabbed after deadly crash

Suspect in fatal Pittsfield hit and run taken into custody without incident

Pittsfield, MA – A man accused in a fatal hit and run earlier this month was taken into custody Monday evening after investigators identified him as the suspected driver in the Feb. 10 collision, according to Pittsfield Police.

The suspect was identified as William Gross, 65, of Hancock. Police confirmed he was brought into custody without incident following the department’s public release Monday night.

Gross is expected to be arraigned Wednesday or Thursday morning in Central Berkshire District Court. He faces charges of motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in personal injury or death.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office will announce the exact arraignment day once confirmed.
