FAIR LAWN, NJ – After weeks of package thefts across town, police in Fair Lawn have arrested two suspects accused of stealing deliveries from porches during the busy holiday season.
Officers identified the pair as 35-year-old Perla M. Abreu-Zorrilla of Clifton and 24-year-old Yamel De Los Santos De Leon of Passaic.
Both were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after police tracked their vehicle through neighborhood surveillance footage.

Dozens of packages recovered
Investigators said homeowners’ Ring camera videos helped them identify a 2024 Honda CRV seen at multiple theft locations. Police located the vehicle around 4:30 p.m. on December 9 and found it packed with stolen parcels.
Authorities reported recovering dozens of packages inside the SUV, many of which were traced back to local residents. Abreu-Zorrilla and De Los Santos De Leon were each charged with 14 counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property.
Suspects held without release
De Los Santos De Leon, listed in records as a Dominican national, and Abreu-Zorrilla, a Dominican-born U.S. citizen, remain held in the Bergen County Jail pending court appearances in Hackensack.
Holiday crime crackdown
Police said the arrests followed weeks of community complaints about stolen deliveries from porches and driveways. Fair Lawn authorities credited residents’ quick reporting and home surveillance footage for helping end the spree.
