Protester arrested for using caltrops to disable police vehicles during riots

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A protester was taken into custody after allegedly using caltrops—spiked devices designed to puncture tires—to disable law enforcement vehicles during recent riots, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Officials said the individual was apprehended after obstructing law enforcement operations and deploying the tire-puncturing devices in an apparent attempt to slow or block police response. When officers searched the suspect, they discovered a bag containing several additional caltrops similar to those used at the scene.
