Dismembered remains case leads to murder indictment in Queens
Queens, NY — A months-long investigation into human remains found in multiple locations has led to a murder indictment against a South Ozone Park man accused of killing his wife and attempting to conceal the crime.
Rupchand Simboo, 75, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of 33-year-old Salisha Ali, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
Ali was last seen alive on July 13, 2025, inside the couple’s home. She was reported missing days later after failing to show up for work.
Her remains were first discovered on September 22, 2025, when sanitation workers found a wrapped and decomposed torso near 149th Avenue and Brookville Boulevard.
Additional remains, including a head, legs, and an arm, were later recovered in March in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge near Cross Bay Boulevard.
Investigators said evidence recovered from the defendant’s home and workplace, including rope and a moving blanket, matched materials used to wrap the remains. Authorities also used location data from a mobile app to place the defendant near both disposal sites around the time of the victim’s disappearance.
Simboo has been remanded and is scheduled to return to court on June 5. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
The case remains ongoing.
