Stamford, CT – A motor vehicle collision on Long Ridge Road near Roxbury Road resulted in serious injuries to a driver on Monday night. The crash involved a 2007 Sterling dump truck and a 2024 Kia EV6 SUV, with the latter striking the rear of the truck.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. as the dump truck slowed for a traffic light changing from green to red. The Kia, traveling southbound, collided with the dump truck, severely damaging the SUV.

The driver of the Kia, identified as Michael Lombardo, 48, of Stamford, sustained serious injuries and required extrication from the vehicle. While his injuries are serious, they are not considered life-threatening.

The dump truck operator sustained minor injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital for evaluation. An investigation revealed Lombardo was driving at high speeds, reaching up to 80 mph, and was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
