Teen on scooter killed in crash with SUV in East Baltimore

A 19-year-old man died after a collision involving a scooter and an SUV Saturday afternoon, police said

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 19-year-old scooter driver was killed after colliding with an SUV in East Baltimore on Saturday afternoon, prompting an investigation by the Baltimore Police Department’s Crash Team.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Washington Street.

Responding officers found a collision involving a scooter and an SUV.

The 19-year-old male who was operating the scooter was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Authorities said the driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the crash.

Crash Team investigators responded and assumed control of the investigation.

Police have not released the identity of the victim.
