The victim told officers the suspect approached him with a knife and demanded money before the victim ran from the scene and sought refuge inside a nearby home.

Additional investigative resources were brought in as the search expanded through the Pine Lake Park neighborhood. The Manchester Police Investigations Bureau joined the response, while the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office provided specialized support, including drone surveillance and K-9 units.

Juvenile identified and taken into custody

By Saturday, investigators determined that a juvenile was responsible for the incident. The suspect was taken into custody on charges related to robbery and weapon possession.

The juvenile is currently being held at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center while the case proceeds through the juvenile justice system.

Under New Jersey law, specifically N.J.S.A. 2A:4A-60, authorities are prohibited from releasing additional identifying details about juveniles charged with delinquent acts.
