Morning commute turns deadly as head on crash kills 31 year old driver in Pikesville

PIKESVILLE, MD — A 31-year-old woman was killed and two others were seriously injured Thursday morning after a Nissan SUV crossed the center line on Old Court Road and collided head-on with an Audi, authorities said.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the area of Old Court Road and Harden Lane in the 21208 zip code. Officers responding to reports of a multi-vehicle collision determined that a 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on Old Court Road when it crossed into the opposite lane and struck a 2018 Audi Q5.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Sydney Jones, 31, was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

A juvenile passenger in the Nissan was also taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Audi was transported with life-threatening injuries.

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
