Atlantic City Police arrest two on drug charges after month-long investigation

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – On January 15, 2021, a search warrant resulted in the arrest of two men and the recovery of narcotics. Members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section executed a residential search warrant in the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue. The operation was the culmination of a one-month investigation into the distribution of narcotics. During the search, detectives located two ounces of cocaine, 176 bags of heroin, prescription pills, a small amount of marijuana, and items used to distribute the narcotics. Abu Rasheed and Khalif Rasheed were arrested.

The investigation was led by Detective Chris Smith.

ARRESTED: Abu Rasheed, 27, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS (four counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (three counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone (three counts), and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Khalif Rasheed, 19, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Both men were released on a summons with a future court date. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
