KENMORE, NY – The treasurer of the Kenmore West High School Girls Volleyball team is going to jail for six months after stealing $10,000 from the team’s account.

According to Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn, 42-year-old Kerri M. Brown of Kenmore was sentenced this afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to 6 months in jail followed by 5 years of probation.

“The defendant, who was the treasurer of the Kenmore West Girls Volleyball Booster Club, became the subject of the investigation after the organization’s bank account had insufficient funds to purchase pizza for the high school student-athletes. The investigation revealed that the defendant pocketed cash from various fundraisers between July 2018 and June 2020,” D.A. Flynn said.

Brown pleaded guilty to one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class “E” felony) on April 20, 2022.  She must make full restitution to the program.
