NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are seeking to capture a catalytic converter thief caught on camera this weekend.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle on August 21, 2022.

“On surveillance video, two male suspects used a jack to lift a 2003 Honda Odyssey and remove its catalytic converter. The suspects fled westbound on South Orange Avenue in a Gray Infiniti with fictitious plates bearing a Massachusetts registration (3YCJ69),” Frage said.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-
8477).
