Newark Police Seeking Suspect in July Shooting

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark police department is asking the public for assistance in identifying a shooter connected to a July 1st shooting that claimed the life of one person.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., July 2nd, a victim reported to Police that his driver’s side mirror was damaged and that he found a spent shell casing in front of his vehicle, which had been parked in the 20s block of Broad Street near Oriental Street. Responding officers also located two more shell casings at the scene and observed another vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.

“Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect, who was observed engaging in a shootout with another individual. He is known to frequent or live in the Broadway Town Houses in North Newark,” police said.
