Caught on Camera: Police investigating church break-in

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating a burglary that occurred on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Scotland AME Zion Church in the 10900 block of Seven Locks Rd. in Potomac. Detectives have released a video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

Gaithersburg, MD – A burglary was reported at the Scotland AME Zion Church in the 10900 block of Seven Locks Rd. in Potomac by officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section on Friday, November 25, 2022. Police have released a video of the suspects and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying them.    

An officer from the 2nd District responded to the location at approximately 11 p.m. to investigate a burglary that had just taken place.  

Investigators have determined that the suspects forced entry into the church, vandalized property, and fled the scene.  

Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the property and obtained video of the suspects.  

Anyone with information about these suspects or this crime is asked to call the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710 or 240-773-TIPS or contact Crimes Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers may remain anonymous.
