WASHINGTON, D.C. – A U.S. Marshall executing a search warrant in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday ended up shooting the suspect after he pulled a gun on arresting officers.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at around 1 pm MPD officers and other agencies arrived at the 4300 block of 3rd Street, Southeast to execute the warrant.
“The deputies located the wanted subject, and the subject fled on foot from the deputies. The deputies gave chase,” the MPD said in a statement today. “As the deputies were apprehending him, the male produced a firearm. The deputies discharged their firearms, striking him.”
The deputies provided medical aid to the male and requested emergency medical services.
He was pronounced dead by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The decedent has been identified as 22-year-old Alaunte Nicholas Scott of an unknown address.
