Uber drivers to get incentives for charging vehicles at BP hubs

by Reuters

(Reuters) – BP Plc said it would provide the drivers of Uber Technologies Inc incentives on its electric charging hubs under a new deal announced on Friday.

Uber and BP would initially collaborate in key markets, including the United States, UK, and Europe, to help the ride-hailing company achieve its 2030 emissions targets, followed by Australia and New Zealand, the companies said in a statement.

Uber aims to be a zero-tailpipe emissions mobility platform in the US, Canada and Europe by 2030 and globally by 2040.

The two companies would also explore working together on convenience and fuel offers. BP has a global network of almost 21,000 branded retail sites.

BP and Uber had last year tied up to expand delivery services to everyday convenience.
