WILMINGTON, DE – A carjacking and shots fired incident that began in the Prices Corner shopping center parking lot on Monday, has prompted an investigation by the Delaware State Police. At approximately 8:15 pm, four suspects, described as black males wearing dark clothing and masks, approached a 29-year-old male victim as he was returning to his white GMC Sierra.

The victim was about to start his vehicle when one of the suspects struck him on the top of the head with a handgun. The armed suspect then demanded that the victim get into the truck, while a second suspect, also wielding a firearm, grabbed the victim and forced him into the vehicle. As the suspects began to drive the stolen vehicle out of the parking lot, the victim was able to jump out of the truck and run into his nearby business.

After notifying his employees of the incident, one of them got into their personal vehicle and pursued the suspects in the stolen truck.

The employee followed the stolen GMC truck to the area of northbound Interstate 95 and Marsh Road, where the suspects fired two rounds at the employee’s vehicle, striking it twice in the rear.

The second victim then discontinued following the suspects.

Neither of the victims was injured during the incident. The stolen GMC Sierra was later recovered unoccupied in the area of Garland Road and Lakewood Drive in Wilmington. The suspects were seen occupying a black Honda Accord before the incident, which was also observed fleeing the scene after the theft. Two of the suspects remained within the Accord.
