Elderly woman injured in violent Queens attempted robbery

NEW YORK CITY – The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in an attempted robbery within the 110th Precinct. On Sunday, at around 8:25 a.m., a 70-year-old female victim was waiting at a bus stop at the intersection of Granger Street and Horace Harding Expressway when an unknown male approached her. The suspect attempted to forcibly remove the victim’s bag, leading to a physical altercation that caused the woman to fall to the ground. Unable to remove the bag, the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on 108th Street.

The elderly victim sustained pain in her hands and a fractured knee, requiring transportation to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills/Northwell Health by EMS, where she remains in stable condition. The suspect is described as a male with a light to medium complexion, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, gray/blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants with white stripes on the side, white sneakers, and a gray backpack.
