FREEHOLD, NJ – A man charged with dealing cocaine in Monmouth County is heading to prison after being convicted and sentenced this week.

Herbert Standard, 43, has been recently sentenced to ten years in a New Jersey State Prison in connection with a 2021 drug investigation led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Strike Force.

Standard was convicted of first-degree possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute an amount in excess of 5 ounces.

During the three-month-long investigation, police from several departments executed search warrants at the Crystal Inn in Eatontown and a residence in Oceanport, seizing over 300 grams of cocaine, over an ounce of fentanyl, and over 6 ounces of marijuana. Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Emily Cartmell handled the case.
