NEW YORK, NY – A New York City Police Department detective has been arrested for assault.
Jorge Mergeche, a 39-year-old officer who serves as a detective with the New York City Police Department, was arrested and charged with assault on Thursday.
The incident took place in the Bronx while Mergeche was off-duty.
According to reports, Mergeche was taken into custody at around 10 pm by arresting officers. He was charged with assault and processed.
