Columbus police department adds 31 new officers

Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Division of Police celebrated the addition of 31 new officers to its family today. The 140th recruit class was sworn in as police officers after successfully completing a grueling 30-week program that included rigorous academic, physical, and practical training at the Columbus Police Academy.

The new officers come from diverse backgrounds and will now begin a 15-week field training program in various neighborhoods across Columbus. They will work alongside experienced officers to learn the intricacies of law enforcement and gain practical experience in the field.
