Breanna Black to face charges for killing woman on Easter Sunday

SHIPPENSBURG, PA – Breanna Black faces charges of criminal homicide and persons not to possess a firearm in the shooting death of Shippensburg resident Beth Ann Schwartz on Easter Sunday.

After a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, Magisterial District Judge H. Anthony Adams has upheld all charges against Breanna E. Black, 33, as announced by the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office.

State police reported that Schwartz, a 48-year-old mother of two, was shot in the chest at around 8:39 p.m. on April 9 in a parking lot located on the 100 block of South Prince Street. Schwartz was transported to Chambersburg Hospital and then airlifted to WellSpan York Hospital where she passed away at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 10.

After a preliminary hearing, where members of law enforcement and a witness testified, Magisterial District Judge H. Anthony Adams held all charges to the Court of Common Pleas. Black declined transport from the Cumberland County Prison and did not participate in the hearing.
