NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has issued a call for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect connected to a business burglary. The incident took place in the early hours of May 3, 2023, on Green Street.

The owner of the business found a hand bag, containing $4,000, broken into and emptied.

The suspect, whose image has been captured by surveillance cameras, reportedly fled to Newark Penn Station, where he entered a red Ford Explorer Taxi that then headed west on Market Street.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
