Woman Arrested Following Barricade Incident in Norfolk

NORFOLK, VA – Renee E. Pierce, a 58-year-old resident of Norfolk, was arrested following an overnight standoff on Leander Drive. On Tuesday, at around 8:16 pm, Norfolk Police responded to a residence on Leander Drive following reports of a woman barricading herself within a home with a weapon.

Police officers attempted to contact the occupant but initial attempts were unsuccessful. After an 8-hour standoff, Pierce walked out of her residence and was taken into custody without any complications.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Pierce was charged with discharging a firearm in an occupied building and is currently detained at Norfolk City Jail without bond.
