Brooklyn Man Sentenced to 22 Years for Fatal Shooting on White Plains Road

BRONX, NY – Jermaine Sutherland, a 33-year-old man from Brooklyn, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for manslaughter and seven years for criminal possession of a weapon, last Friday. Sutherland was found guilty of shooting a man on White Plains Road in broad daylight in September 2020.

The incident took place on September 10, 2020, when Sutherland shot the victim, Caron Anthony Sessoms, three times in the neck. Sutherland then fled to California and was on the run for months before being extradited to the Bronx in December 2020.
