Stolen Firearm and Cocaine Found During Worcester County Traffic Stop

WORCESTER COUNTY, MD -The Maryland State Police arrested Javon Brittingham, 31, and Rodney Smith, Jr., 29, both of Salisbury, Maryland, early on Friday morning, following a traffic stop.

The officer, based out of the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack, stopped a 2020 Toyota Camry on westbound Route 50 for speeding. During the investigation, the officer discovered a stolen firearm and suspected cocaine in the vehicle.

Brittingham and Smith are now charged with possession of a stolen firearm, among other related charges. The ongoing investigation is being conducted in close coordination with local, state, and federal partners.
