Deal police welcome return of officer battling Leukemia

DEAL, NJ – The Deal Police Department celebrated the return of Sergeant Daniel Kobil to full duty after undergoing treatment for Hairy Cell Leukemia, a rare form of chronic leukemia.

Sergeant Kobil’s journey began when abnormalities were detected in his bloodwork during a routine well visit in January. Further medical evaluation revealed the presence of Hairy Cell Leukemia, a challenging condition often initially mistaken for other ailments.

Under the guidance of his dedicated oncologists, Sergeant Kobil underwent an intense treatment regimen consisting of eight weeks of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. While his battle against cancer continues, Sergeant Kobil’s health has shown positive progress, enabling him to resume his duties within the police department.
