Buffalo Teen Sentenced to Probation Following Shooting

ERIE COUNTY, NY – A 16-year-old Buffalo male was recently sentenced to 5 years of probation this morning before Youth Part Judge Brenda Freedman. He was adjudicated as a youthful offender.

The crime occurred on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. The teenager shot the victim with an illegal firearm inside a bedroom in a Mary B. Talbert Boulevard home. The victim was admitted to Oishei Children’s Hospital for a back injury.

Isaiah K. Hicks, a 20-year-old co-defendant, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Hicks is scheduled for further proceedings on Monday, August 28, 2023.
