91-year-old man robbed at knifepoint two blocks from Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department seeks public assistance in identifying an individual connected with an attempted robbery that occurred on Monday.

At approximately 3:30 pm, an unknown individual approached a 91-year-old male victim from behind at the intersection of East 161st and Grand Concourse. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. In the ensuing encounter, the victim fell and sustained a head injury.

The victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition. The suspect fled on foot, heading eastbound on 161 Street.

The incident happened just two blocks from Yankee Stadium. The Yankees did not play on Monday.
