Owner charged for stranding dog in Lonelyville

Lonelyville, NY – Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers and Suffolk County SPCA detectives swiftly responded to a distressing 911 call originating from a residence in the tranquil community of Lonelyville. Concerned neighbors had reported a dog trapped on an outdoor deck without access to sustenance or proper shelter.

Upon arrival, authorities were confronted with a distressing scene. Nova, a female retriever, had been subjected to the scorching heat and perilously low air quality levels for a staggering five hours. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, officers promptly intervened, rescuing the distressed canine and arranging for immediate evaluation.

Following a thorough investigation, it was revealed that Nova’s owner had callously neglected to provide her with the basic necessities of life. Consequently, the owner now faces charges for failing to supply adequate food, water, and shelter for the helpless animal. Additionally, an unrelated warrant was served during the incident.
