WASHINGTON, D.C. – Officials from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division, along with Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Field Office, Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, have announced the arrest of an individual in connection with a Sex Trafficking of Children offense.

According to the investigation, between March 18, 2019, and April 15, 2023, the suspect allegedly orchestrated and facilitated sexual encounters involving victims, receiving money in return for these exploitative acts.

On Friday, July 14, law enforcement acted upon a United States District Court arrest warrant and apprehended 37-year-old Charles Dawson of Oxon Hill, MD.

Dawson has been charged with Sex Trafficking of Children or By Force, Fraud, or Coercion, specifically aiding or promoting prostitution.

This arrest was a collaborative effort of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Field Office, Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force in combatting child exploitation and trafficking.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information related to this case to come forward.
