New Jersey Energy Czar Says The World Is Not Safe Because You Won't Buy an EV

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey BPU Commissioner Dr. Zenon Christodoulou says the world is not safe right now and blamed gas-guzzling cars, electric stoves, pizza ovens, and gas heating systems in homes and businesses for it.

Christodoulou did not identify those items by name but said New Jerseyans’ carbon footprints are too big, and the world is at risk because of it. He used the platform to push the state’s agenda of converting every gasoline-powered vehicle to electric by 2035 and programs that give government subsidies for New Jersyans to buy electric vehicles.

“The world is not safe right now and one of the reasons is climate change,” he said.

He said New Jerseyans must alter their way of life to save the planet.

“If you care about building a safe and healthy future for our children and grandchildren and are in the market for a new vehicle, please take a look at an EV,” he said. “More and more manufacturers are getting in the EV business.”

Christodoulou said, “It’s our obligation to mitigate the effects of climate change. Otherwise, it’s going to alter our way of life, it’s going to alter what we eat, it’s going to offer every phase of our life, and as I’ve said many times before, I may not be around to see the dramatic effects but our young folks will we owe it to them and we will be judged on how well we mitigate the effects of climate change.”

“It’s the obligation of each and every one of us to reduce our carbon footprint. Each and every one of us to contribute to the mitigation of climate change,” he added.
