Crash Leaves One Man Dead in Bethel

BETHEL, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal collision that happened on Sunday, on Shell Bridge Road in Bethel. A 27-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware lost control of his 2017 white Ford Fiesta, resulting in his death.

The car was travelling eastbound when it approached an S-curve at a high speed. The vehicle lost control after the curve, hitting a raised embankment which caused the car to vault airborne. After several rolls, the car came to a halt against a guardrail.

The operator was ejected from the car during the incident. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The man’s identity is being withheld until family and relatives are notified.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the crash site was investigated and cleared.
