ALLENTOWN, PA – On Monday, around 4:05 pm, officers from the Allentown Police Department were dispatched to Wells Fargo Bank at 1901 S. 4th St. following a threat complaint.

An individual stated that a bomb was in the bank as they left the premises.

The Allentown Fire Department and the FBI were promptly notified. The bank was evacuated for safety while the Allentown Police K-9 unit conducted a search, but no explosive devices were found.

As a result of their investigation, detectives developed a suspect, Elhame Hassan Basyouny, a 21-year-old resident from the 2500 block of Mountain Lane.

Basyouny was charged with making terroristic threats. This is an ongoing investigation, and the Allentown Police Department is cooperating with the FBI.
