Five Shot Three Killed in Brutal D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saturday night in D.C. turned into a nightmare when a brutal shooting claimed five victims, and tragically, three of them succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch has initiated an investigation of the incident. The shooting took place in Southeast D.C., at the 1600 block of Good Hope Road.

Police rushed to the reported location shortly before 8:30 pm following a shooting report. Upon arrival, they discovered five shooting victims—four adult males and one adult female. Two of the adult male victims and the adult female victim showed no signs of life and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two remaining adult male victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and their current condition remains uncertain.

The authorities have confirmed the identities of the deceased as Tymea Cook, 27, from Southeast, DC, Bernard Hodges, 35, from Northeast, DC, and Reginald Gilbert, 34.
