D.C. Police Arrest Suspect in July Murder

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have made an arrest in a homicide that occurred on Monday, July 17, in the 600 block of Monroe Street, Northeast.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Robert Lavender of Southeast, DC.

On Friday, 18-year-old Jaleil Jones of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed. Jones was apprehended pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia.
